The Greek diplomat and bibliophile Ioannis Gennadios collected throughout his lifetime to produce this beautiful collection of first editions and illuminated manuscripts.
There are over 70,000 rare books here. Serious scholars require permission to access the collections, but day visitors can look at selected exhibits. Of particular note is the last known portrait of the poet, Lord Byron, completed in 1824 before his death.
